Phelps Dodge International Corporation (PDIC) with headquarters located in Coral Gables, Florida, operates and manages a network of manufacturing facilities located in Costa Rica, Honduras, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil, Zambia, Thailand, the Philippines, China, and Hong Kong, and distribution centers and sales units in the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Ecuador and South Africa, as well as a professional network of sales representatives in the Middle East, India, Singapore, Australia, Argentina and Peru.
Our plants, with state-of-the art equipment and the latest technology for wire and cable production, have developed quality systems, environmental practices and safety procedures that have received certifications under international standards like ISO 9001-2000, ISO 14,001 and ISO 18,001.
With a vertical continuous vulcanization (VCV) tower at our plant in Thailand, one of the few in the world, we are capable of producing Extra High Voltage cables up to 230 kV for the world market. In Venezuela, we produce submarine cables that are used in the operation of oil platforms in different regions of the world, and in Zambia we manufacture high quality copper rod and low voltage cables to serve customers in Africa.
