Conducen, the largest producer of wires and cables in Central America, manufactures products for the construction market in facilities with a total area over 67,000 square meters that include its own PVC compounding plant.
Manufacturing Wires and Cables for Customers Worldwide
The company, recognized as a leader in the region, manufactures wires and cables according to international standards established by renowned institutions such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL) from the U. S., CSA from Canada, Cidet from Colombia and Ance from Mexico, among others.
Main product lines include 600 volts PVC insulated cables, types THHN-THWN, THW, THW-LS, NM-B, and TGP. Flexible cords types SPT, ST and SJT are also produced.

Our facilities in Costa Rica and the Distribution Centers across the region work under the strictest safety policies and procedures, and have been recognized as model companies in safety, occupational health and environmentally friendly operations.
Milestones
- 1971 Plant is inaugurated as a multi-products facility and begins serving the Central American market.
- 1978 Obtains the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approval for its building wire products, opening access to the U. S. market.
- 1994 Obtains the ISO 9001 certification, among the first in Costa Rica.
- 1996 Transforms into a specialized building wire plant and establishes its own network of distribution centers in the region, named Phelps Dodge Centro America.
- 2003 Obtains the ISO 9001- 2000 and the ISO 17025 certifications.
ECOHSA
Electroconductores de Honduras, S.A. (ECOHSA) was founded in 1981 by Phelps Dodge International Corporation. In 1996 ECOHSA began specializing in the manufacturing of bare and insulated aluminum cables. We are a leading aluminum cable manufacturer for the Central America Region and the Caribbean. Located in Tegucigalpa, the capital city of Honduras, our main product lines are 1350 and 6201 aluminum alloys.
